How to plan a short trip to Port Dickson? | Food and hotel itinerary shared!

Since it was the holidays, we really took our time and started the drive up late haha.
Think it was about 8am, that we left home.
So the causeway was relatively fine and because Port Dickson is 1.5hr further from Melaka, we were projecting to reach at 1pm plus.
Along the way, we took a rest stop at Machap R&R. Let the little one spend some energy at the playground and grabbed a coffee for the hubby,

Lunch at Ah Cui Bak Kut Teh

AddressNo 40, Jalan Pasar, Lukut, 71010 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia
This shop came highly recommended from a few other bloggers.
It’s situated in one corner of the street as you can see.

We ordered Bak kut teh and also Wine chicken.
Didn’t order the “Lu Zhu Jiao Chu”, aka pig trotters.

Overall, I think taste is not that good. At least for us, the old “Lois Beef Bak Kut Teh” was better.
A little pricey too.

Avillion Port Dickson

AddressBatu 3,, Jalan Pantai, Taman Dato Haji Abdul Samad, 71000 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia
We booked the water chalet as you can see below.
It was a cool idea to live on the waters and it was pretty pricey!

But when we saw the rooms, we were pretty disappointed. It was not well cleaned and the fear of sandflies just got to us.
I took the chance to ask management to show us other rooms.
Then we were offered the Duplex Room and it was HUGE!
The 6th floor view of the entire coast line was great also. We instantly liked it.

Level 2 bedroom

In the end, this room cost less than what we paid for the water chalet and we gladly swapped rooms.
We realised its not really offered on Agoda or Booking.com.
The little one loved having stairs in the room.

Amazing pet farm

If you’ve young kids, they will certainly love this.
Starts at 10am and you get to feed rabbits, chickens, peacocks and tortoises.

Dinner at King’s Char kway teow

Address402, Si Rusa, 4, Jalan Pantai, 71050 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia
Closes at 2am
We drove out to find a few recommended food places. This is one that is easy to spot.
It looks very well run and parking was ample.

The style of the Char Kway Teow was not too much to our liking.  It inherently was a bit spicy also so sharing with him was not too easy. The grilled lamb was good though.

Overall, it was an experience. A little pricey.
Hubby was saying to recommend you to just walk out to KFC which is within 100m of Avillion Port Dickson.
But if you’re like us and itching to explore then ya, you could try this. The satay place mentioned in a few blogs is right beside.

Some amazing scenery

“Sandflies beware!!” Haha

Artsy shot

We may come back some years down the road to Port Dickson. There’s not too much to shop around here. More for relaxing.
Thistle Hotel and Lexus Hotel looks interesting also but they are on the other side of the coast.
